Matt Lefebvre
Principal
Matt began his teaching career at West Springfield High School in the Fall of 2000. He served on the faculty at Westborough High School and Gibbons Middle School from 2004-2013 before moving into the role of Assistant Principal at Westborough High School, a position he held until the end of the 2021-2022 school year. He is entering his fourth year as the Principal at Hopkinton Middle School.
Matt is a proud graduate of UMass Amherst, BM and BME, 2000; Western Michigan University, MM 2004; Endicott College, MEd 2011; and the Leadership Licensure Program through the MSAA.
Assistant Principal
Ann Benbenek
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Benbenek has served in the role of Assistant Principal at HMS since 2013. Prior to becoming an administrator, Ann was an English teacher for twenty years; at Gibbons Middle School (1998-2013) and West Boylston Middle School (1993-1998).
Ann holds a Master of Education from Cambridge College and an undergraduate degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Lauren McDonough

Ms. McDonough has served in the role of Assistant Principal at HMS since 2024. Prior to becoming an administrator, Lauren was a teacher at HMS for nine years, most recently teaching sixth grade English.
Lauren holds a Master of Education from Framingham State University and an undergraduate degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross.
